Probably not a full gut.
I'm not sure exactly what next. Still have some odds and ends to clear up.
Probably tackle some wiring next. I plan to run 2-3 house batteries to power the box. I have a generator to install at some pt.
I need to keep the back simple. I don't need luxury, but more utility. I want to try to design a bed/ platform that can fold up and out of the way so I can easily carry things in the back when necessary. I do want an air compressor for airing up tires, small tools, and inflating kites.
Other possible things:
Roof top ac??
Roof racks
Onboard water?
Heat.

Still need to do dome planning I guess.
But I'm happy it is up and driving!!!

Today I swapped the mirrors from the "Good Earth Revival" ambo over to mine and got some side steps for climbing in and out of the cab.
The mirrors turned out be electric not manual. They just were not hooked up in the "GER"ambo so that was a win.
They are hooked up and functioning well.
The mirrors I had were great for visibility, but did not have the capability to fold out of the way. I was afraid if I hit something they would rip part of my door off!!
May do something with the front bumper. I want something really simple that has a receiver below for a hitch style rack for the beach.
For now my trimmed stock bumper will do.

Found a few sections of clear lenses for my light bar. Believe it or not there is a whole forum about lightbars that I stumbled upon.

Found a few clear sections. Still not enough to fill up my bar. I'll let you know if I find a consistent source. So far just found two people who each have 2 clear sections so I bought those 4 sections. But am still searching for more.

Also ended up getting another set of H1 rims and tires. Was searching for a spare but found a full set that the guy would not split up. They are in really good shape. Look like they were never actually run on a truck. So now I guess I have 4 spares!!
Not much progress other than that.

Solenoid in pict below seem to make a continuous clicking sound when activated.
Is that the sign of a bad solenoid??
Or possibly is it just not getting enough voltage??
I working on powering up my box and repurposing the light-bar and flashers.
Also eliminating the sirens. They are cool, but definitely not necessary.
If it is a bad solenoid. Does any one have a spare??

Yes that is what it is.
I'm going to mess with it tomorrow. It just seems to be acting strangely compared to the way my other one works.
It works some times then when I switch the floods on it start clicking.
Maybe low voltage I'm testing it with a not so good battery. I'm going to try running it off the whole system tomorrow.

Ok the floods- that could be the key.

Definitely grab a voltmeter and look for a sharp drop when you kick on the floods. That could be causing the issue. I know it's pushing the limit of what I can draw on one circuit in my rig. (My solution is going to LEDs)

Turned out to be a bad ground.
It was making me crazy!!!
All good now.
Floods still individually controlled left/right/rear.
One switch for repurposed flashers on box to light up 3 sides at once.
One switch for repurposed light bar.

I tied the back floods and rear side floods into my reverse lights. Easy to do, but be sure to use diodes to keep the circuits separate. Otherwise you'll flip a switch for one thing and every light will come on.

Food for thought.

Thanks for the idea. They do come in when opening the rear doors. I'm gonna leave it manual for backing up. They are really bright and I don't want to cause a scene every time I backup.

Relocated the switch panel. This keeps my center console/ doghouse clear, but is still within easy reach of the drivers seat.

Spent a lot of time pulling out the front interior and lining the cab to quiet things down. Also bulled the heat shield off the doghouse and lined it. Re installed heat shield/insulation.
It is much quieter in the cab, but still not really quiet. The 7.3 makes quite a racket no matter what, but it is way more reasonable in the cab. Ran some wires and added new front speakers / cheap Jensen single din touch screen head unit, a sub and some amps. Went middle/low end on the speakers. I felt since it is still not that quiet in the cab it would be hard to appreciate high end stuff.

Now working on a fold out platform for the back. Trying to keep it simple.

How bad was it to pull off the seats? I've been seriously thinking about doing the same, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with rusted/ shearing off bolts.

Those lights are super bright! Are they LED or something?

Seats came out easy. I was surprised at how clean and rust free the cab floors were.

No not LED's, but bright and energy hungry.
