404 and tubeless tires

I just took delivery of a set of Continental MPT81 tires for my Mog. Is there any reason why I can't or shouldn't go tubeless when I take the old bias plys off and mount the MPT's? Some Mog owners that I know went tubeless with Interco Swampers and such but I need good road manners first (Swampers are great but since I usually travel 6000 km to go off pavement...) and the truck places around me insist that I have to go with tubes and flaps even though I have seen 404's run for years tubeless (using factory rims). What are the pros and cons 404 owners?:coffee:

The "Norm" in the states when running the MPT's on the stock Unimog Wheels is Tubeless. We have never had this problem come up. Simply remove the old tube, install a new valve stem and install the MPT's. I would check with another tire shop.
