Thanks! Glad you enjoy it.

I have a few trick up my sleeve. I'll try to keep the build interesting.
There's a lot more to come...:088:

You are like a ninja with the bandsaw.

For rust removal you may want to try either the green roloc disks that are for a 4.5" angle grinder or a knotted wire wheel. The type you posted when cleaning your springs are a huge PITA to use IMO.

The roloc work very fast without all the little wires in bedded in your skin and clothes, and the knotted wire wheels last much longer and strip much fast than the wire you posted.

Hey 4307 do you have any pic's of the rear bumper all finished and mounted, that thing is sick!:sombrero:

Yup!
Thanks.
The main bumper is complete, with frame plates welded in. Now I'm fabbing the rear swing out tire carrier.
I really need to update this thread, now that our wheeling season is over.

Talk about anticipation of waiting to see how that bumper was going to fit on your tacoma.... ITS ABOUT TIME!!!! :wings::victory::wings::victory:

Looks great!
Can't wait to see your tire gate.
Do not forget to add the frame reinforcement plates.
Your frame will love you for it. :)

LOL.. I finished it back in April, forgot to post the update. Hell I had enough people bugging me, I'm sure the TTORA crowd just gave up waiting. hehehe.
Plates are..... Done :costumed-smiley-007
All edges completely welded, no spaces left without weld. Time consuming but worth it for our climate.
What a difference the 1/4" plates made. It really stiffened up the rear.
The truck frame is now treated with Toyota's special goo. Part of the rusty frame recall. The coating on the outer frame is really thick and durable, the inside frame is coated with a thick wax type material. Toyota was really easy to deal with. They had no issues with the frame plates and custom suspension hangers. In fact, toyota treated the frame plates and hangers, did a really good job at that. A corporate guy from the Cambridge Toyota plant came down to the dealership to check the work out (local plant and dealer) Apparently they were very interested in my mods.
Sorry no pics yet. I had it treated 2 weeks ago.
Toyota also gave me an additional 15 year warranty for the frame.. :wings:

The pics below.. The plates were painted with DOM-16. Just as durable as POR15, with less prep work, and slightly less expensive.

The rear bumper was also painted with this product.

the tire is gunna tuck down into it if i remember right

Correct.
Nice discovery... LOL... The dip down, makes for a really comfortable step for strapping stuff to the roof rack.

The license plate is attached to the bumper via the receiver, locked down for daily driving, removed for wheeling.
The plate will have a new home on the swing out.

Another addition to the bumper was rock lights. I added mounting brackets before the bumper was installed. $6 tractor lights...
Also added to the ARB...

There will be 4 more added to the mid section, this spring, or fall depending on weather. (I don't have a garage)

Very nice frame reinforcement plates, by chance did you save the templates or CAD drawings for them? They look more "exact" than others commercially for sale.

Yup, I save all my templates. Sorry they aren't CAD just old school tape and paper. Why you want a copy?
