My guess is the block cracked first and let some coolant get in. Dang man. Time for an 8.1 mehbee?????
Seriously sorry about the engine fragging out on you though!
So checking around I talked to a machine shop local and I think I am just gonna have it sleeved in that cylinder and then torque hone all the others. The sleeve install and bore is only $96 and another $20 to tq hone. That will make the block just as good as new, then I can get busy ordering parts and stuff.
You shouldn't have any problems with block after getting it sleeved. Just to be on the safe side, I would get the machine shop to thoroughly go over the block just to ensure no other issues.
Not sure but prolly Wednesday. Been out in the shop cleaning parts and taking old pistons off the rods so everything will be mostly ready when I get it back. Waiting on the shop to call me and give me the all clear before I order new pistons just incase I have to get a new block, which if that happens would get .30 over instead of the .60
