Also got first order of parts placed, prolly be here by Monday.
second order will be new polyurethene motor and trans mount, new plug wires, a corrected distributor cap, and wrist pins and retainers if the ones I have dont fit, which I think they will. Oh and a oil pump and priming tool and royal purple filter and maybe a few other odds and ends that may pop up while I am doing the build.
Still gotta work out how to pick up the block next week, so I can start assembly. And yes I am excited again!!
Oooh man! Thats a fantastic list of parts there! Thats going to be quite the nice motor! VERY good work. Looking forward to seeing this beast coming together again.
6" all spring lift, 37" military oz's, and 3/4 ton chassis and axles, oh and all poly body bushings......don't think I will notice much difference. But I will say only got 2500 miles on the motor mounts that are in it and the driver side is collapsed already so will sacrifice a little extra vibes for mounts that last.
The body mounts were a huge improvement, it has no body roll at all now, I live on a very curvy road and it feels way more solid now and can go faster with out feeling squirrely. So I would think they cant be much worse than the stock rubber.
i run the DIY4X poly motor mount kit. i like the traditional bushing desgin over the GM clamshells. No excessive vibs even with the diesel. Might check them out if you toasted a factory rubber mount that fast.
Thanks, I knkw I plan to upgrade to crossover steering in the future and would kick myself in the butt if I did not do this while the engine was out and easy to get to it.
