A good method of handling DRWs is putting the best tires on the inside to lessen the chance of losing one and pulling onto a block with one tire to get the weight off the other. Obviously this only works if it's the outer tire that's being changed. They sell metal lifting ramps for doing a similar thing on tandem axle trailers, no jack needed.
Mine are bolted on together, one set of lugs holds both on. There was a nice flat spot for the Jack and it went better than expected. The hardest part was rusty nylocks holding the spare underneath....

I keep stuffing this thing places RV's don't usually go.... I will say the 10 miles of beat up gravel are not a ton of fun to get to this spot in this thing. Washboard shakes it like you wouldn't believe.

You are really living life out there! Looks awesome! How has your delamination repair held up? I have a coleman travel trailer that has bulges of delamination I need to fix. How did you do it?

That spot I fixed has held up well. There are others popping up all over now though.

I opened up the seam at the top and poured a half gallon of epoxy in and let it run down. Then it was 'clamped' in place with a sheet of ply and mt garage...

It was big area, ~9'x4' I think thats how much I used. I picked it up at Fisheries Supply, but its available all over, they just happen to be next to my office.. Just be sure to use epoxy, not polyester or vinylester, they will melt the foam.

Thanks for the tip! Hope the snow is good for you this year!

I LOVE the look on peoples faces when you roll into a remote spot with an RV....of course, for there to be other people there means it wasn't remote enough. We took Boomer up into a mountain camping spot this summer and there was another couple there with their outfitted Tacoma....the road in and out was knarly and tight, so the look on their faces when we rolled in was priceless.

As usual, awesome rig.

Thanks Spency! Boomer is a fair bit more capable than our rig. Its ok for FS roads, but not much more than that. Long overhang and not much real suspension travel. Its GREAT for the snow though!
