A diverse group of trucks explore Utah (Canyonlands National Park specifically)

Looks like an awesome area! I've been camping/wheeling southern Utah all my life and have never made it over to canyonlands. That narrow slot you guys drove through looks to be the limiting factor for me and my Suburban, I wonder if I would fit.

I have been through that slot in a 97 Tahoe 2-door. It was tight, but I made it without damage.

If you try to go to the Joint Trail, there is one spot that might be difficult due to the Suburbans length, though I imagine you could make it through with a multi-point turn.

I don't believe the campgrounds in Valley of the Gods have any names or designations. It's on a first come first serve basis. There's basically a few trails running off from the main dirt road. This was one which we found driving from a west to east direction in the park and it was on the right side about a third of the way on the trail.

Em er trucks? Em ain't trucks.

Trucks are big, with big steering wheels and flat beds, possibly with stock racks on the sides. Then there are pick-ups for gittin all the ranch work done and they usually had four wheel drive. Now what you fellows got there is what might be referred to as adventure vehicles, but not trucks. Now I know that city folk do have a bit different perspective on things but trucks is trucks.

In fact I'm not thinking that a fellow would want to be taking a truck where you folks went. Possibly a pick-up but I'd sure be plumb nervous about taking a truck through there. Our family is shootin fer being up in that area in October for a week and we won't be takin no trucks either just a bunch of Toyoters. Nice trip report and it certainly wets my appetite for going up later.

I'm thinking your post is mostly intended to be humorous but I refer to my FJ Cruiser, my Raptor, my mom's LR3 and any other outdoorsy 4x4 (Wrangler, Land Cruiser, Discovery etc) as trucks. I'm a country boy too.

It was all intended to be humorous. I moved as a city kid, with a young family, from the Bay Area of CA, to eastern OR and found a very big difference to life. This included not calling a pickup a truck and everything else was just a car (including my old Scout). Just one of those things I hang on to. So no slight was intended at all. Your report makes me anxious for our own trip up there later this year.

I get tired of the typical "local runs" being 99.99% Jeeps. Really nice to see a variety of vechiles tackling beautiful terrain. Great writeup
