A new Adventure Mobile

yea...I just need time to replace that rear marker cover and buff out the rubber damage and bend back the rear left sheetmetal. All in a day's work.

Ahhh, I see that, now that you point it out. Did I miss how that happened?

Or did you buy it with the custom metal work?:ylsmoke:

That kind of stuff always seems to add more character than in detracts...just a thought.

The tire blowout did all that damage. I went 150 miles offroad and didn't scratch it and then the tire explodes. Nothing a rubber mallet and elbow grease can't put back

A fun video put together by Wilson Fabworks about Mojave...showing some van love!

So over the holiday I was able to take a trip for 5 days up to Monterey Bay & Santa Cruz!

Of note in the build is that I replaced the entire exhaust system excluding catalytic converter. Appears the original owner put the wrong muffler on it as well. Now it sounds perfect since I had previously put a hole in it in Mojave! It was also crushed and dented in areas affecting flow.
I also got my motor mounts replaced as Mojave claimed those as well. When I hit the big rock, it bent my motor crossbar and then destroyed the motor mounts. One used crossbar and mounts later and the van shifts even better than ever and no vibes or clunking into gear!
Lastly, I splurged and got the van a Christmas gift... 4 new Bilstein shocks! Yup, they ride NICE. No wonder they call them the best of the best for the van!

Nice trip.

Billie is lookin good! The lettuce picture is very odd if you know what I mean. Almost appears to be relieving himself on Billie. Did the new exhaust make in difference in the HP department?
Hope to see you in March out in the desert.
P.S. What is floating in the scotch?

Jeff (aka "the old guy")

There was a slight increase in power as I noticed a drop in Mojave after busting a hole in it. It also helped mileage.

Those are whiskey rocks. Special property rocks that go in the freezer. They impart no taste to the scotch/whiskey and cool it just enough. It really brings out the honey flavor in The Glenlivet Scotch. They also do not scratch the glass.

A quick peek at the fuse panel installed to power my accessories:
Fridge, cig outlets, interior lights, radio without key, etc

Of all the posters on all the van forums, I think you seem get more enjoyment out of you van than most. Or you just like to tell the world about it more than most. Good for you!

It is an escape...today I hooked up my awning and just sat with the top popped in a chair having a beer in the driveway admiring it. Big plans are in this van! :D

Even though it is my actual plate #? Just curious...

Technically yes, if you drive in a place where they use photo radar/redlight officers will be extra vigilant about it.

While I don't advocate breaking "the law" I run a euro plate on my cars. Matches my SE decal and my Greencard :sombrero: and it is rare to get hastled by cops in my parts. It also has alot to do with the rig. A Westy doesn't exactly SCREAM law breaker. Slammed Honda, Muddy Jeep, and such tend to grab their attention, and the lack of an official front plate is the excuse they need to pull you over.
