Very nice.

Any reason I can't see the Sierra pics you guys commented on?

I think I may have deleted them to make more room in my photo file though I dont remember doing so, or after a period of time they get deleted automatically by the site admin. Sorry.

Cant believe it's already been a year since that trip:Wow1:

Good thread!

I grew up in Lone Pine, CA. Right at the foot of Mt Whitney.

Stellar backpacking country :victory:

I live in Northern Idaho now. A bit different up here, but still has loads of wilderness to get lost in! :ylsmoke:

I'm getting out plenty, but I need to get UP more. We topped out just before Chicken Foot lake along the Rock Creek trail. My daughter had reached her limit, and frankly, I was happy to stop there too, not in the shape I need to be for long distance alpine hikes.

Here is a view of one of the lower lakes along the Rock Creek trail:

Is this accessed from the Mosquito Flats trailhead at the top of Rock Creek road?

Looks very familiar, but I don't recall that much water flowing in the first pic. Either way, that is one of my all time favorite hikes.

I was up there on Saturday with my boys (ages 8 and 5). Specactular day on the trail and they had more stamina than I expected. We hiked for nearly two hours round trip.

Spending time in the Eastern Sierras is always great fun and good for my mental health.

Yes, that's the same one. This was in early July, there was still some snow on the ground in places, so I'm sure the runoff was a factor in water levels.

Exactly right.

Also, thanks Icefisher. Shot with a Canon G10. Wonderful little point-n-shoot. Well, not so little, but still very nice and decently compact.
