Not so much in the dry desert though, but yes nature will reclaim it's own before long.

Part of the Old Dixie Hwy in North Florida. This section was built around 1915 and there's an 11 mile stretch that has been saved from paving.

Love the texture in the Coke sign, good call to make that mono with a tone. I wonder if you can still hold them to the 5c price :)

Was all the Old Dixie Hwy done in bricks?

Pathfinder, you're lucky you got a shot of that shack over the water when you did, the sides have all fallen in now and it's nothing but poles sticking up out of the water, so you have a shot that no one else can re-capture!

Sorry to hear that Pat, but that is the nature of things.

Here is a barn that no longer remains among us in any manner. I did not understand the painting on the roof, when I captured it. Do you get it??

Google the 4:20 club and you will have your answer...

i did not know the significance when I shot this, but I was in a pisser in Glacier National Park years later, and somebody had written next to the door that is was 4:20 time, and so I went to Google to sort it out.

Modena, UT is considered a Ghost Town but people do live there. The area is rich in history including strange happenings. Modena Canyon leads back Stateline, an abandoned mining town. The town was for sale when I moved to Utah, should have bought it!

What a beautiful schoolhouse, a local lady was working on the insides last time we were there.
