A derelict vehicle topic deserves it's own thread, if one isn't already in progress.

If you start one, I'll post to it, as I just started shooting old machinery, etc.

Who else loves to take photos of abandoned buildings, derelict vehicles or equipment, and other relics of the recent past? I mostly like stuff that's not old enough to be considered "historic."

Here's two more. Not really abandoned/derelict persay. But around the lines we seem to be posting in here. Plus one is a self portrait. These are at my Brother in laws dairy farm (the barn is rarely used anymore but his grandfather built it and it is all wooden finger joints, still holding up!

On the back roads of rural central Ohio many years ago

The wife and I decided a quick trip through Idlewild was necessary on our way home Sunday from up north. Idlewild was a black resort town from the 20s to the 60s. Many big-name black entertainers performed there back in it's hayday. Its demise was when all the Jim Crow laws were abolished and they could go anywhere then. All the street lights and signs are still up on all dirt roads. There are some residence still in use but there are also a lot of rundown and neglected ones.
