I've had these Hella 4000's as long as I've had the 60 but never mounted them on the new ARB due to the winch being so big and infringing on where the lights are suppose to be. So, I finally made some aluminum extension brackets and moved them out about 4 inches and everything went together nicely. Just need to get them wired up!

Front recovery points are kinda important. The sad thing is there isn't alot of options for the front end of the 35 year old fj60 in the aftermarket world. While the ARB has a couple of recovery points built in they aren't soft shackle usable and I've also seen them get ripped out so, I adapted some Chevy k2500 recovery hooks ($10 from pick and pull) onto the front of the 60. They're mounted to the front of the frame where the ARB is mounted and under where the OEM hooks are normally mounted. They're rated at 8000 lbs with the grade 8 bolts rated at 27,000 lbs shear strength. I like how low profile they are and should reduce the likelihood of a strap from coming off during a pull and are rounded so they will work nicely with soft shackles.

Note: There is a lot of really nice and functional recovery hooks/points on late model Fords, Chevy's and Dodges that will either bolt up or can be slight modified to adapt to these older Cruisers and are dirt cheap at the local "pick and pull". I see a couple of things.
First, you have a first gen ARB bumper for your 60 and I have the second gen. Not sure of the engineering/ structural differences but, I recall being told by the ARB Rep back when I bought it that the second gen was designed to be stronger and more rigid (eg: shackle recovery points and hilift lifting points that didn't need an adapter or cuts in the bumper) and second you have the dual swing arms on your SROR bumper versus my single swing arm. I remember Tim talking about wanting to change to dual arms but, I've never seen one. Nice looking!

As for selling, Good luck and I bet it won't be on the market long! Be safe.

Tell what , your 60 is just flat outstanding. It is an outstanding vehicle.

It is properly fitted out. By contrast, our FJ60 is fitted out for "dirt bag camping" and that suits us just fine.

My FJ60 has a lot of pinion pine pinstriping on top of the rocker panel rust. The good thing about my vehicle is I do not hesitate to barge thru a bunch of narrow/low stuff. Got home one time and there was enough dead kindling wood on the roof rack to last my fireplace for days.

Here is our dirtbag camp setup: A canvas tarp tied to the roof rack supported by extension poles from Home Depot and homemade guy lines. Keeps the sun and light rain off..

Your rig and mine are opposite ends of the spectrum and I am flat out happy to see them both.

Anyway, I truly appreciate the link to the 'T' handle replacements.
BTW, take a look at this replacement T-handle spring pull pin link and see if it'll work for yours. I'm pretty sure it's what I have. Goodluck!

I've got to tell you, yours is the best looking 60 I ever saw.

My FJ60 has a lot of pinyon pine pinstriping. But it wears it well.

As usual I've been too busy messing with other stuff to get out in the Rhino Ride so, in order to get out and run this beast I've signed up as Trail Gunner for the Annual Cruise Moab event https://www.cruisemoab.com/ this April.
I've been prepping and testing then ARB air system and lockers along with updating some of the wiring.
I plan on testing some new ATC gear (if needed!) and get some action shoots of the ole girl..

Well, finally got these on and wired. These are great lights but man the Hella wiring kit takes a masters degree to run since these have the Luminator lights in them. Plus, the Hella factory switch wouldn't fit in the factory dash hole so I recycled the old Toyota rear heater switch until I can come up with another option. IMG_3550.jpegIMG_6695.pngIMG_3553.jpeg

When I replaced my 20 year old Hella H-4 FJ60 headlights before my Alaska trip I got the European spec lights with the "city" lights. Apparently, cities like Paris do not allow night driving with headlights but with a low power light.
With a brighter bulb, it would work as a daytime running light. Like you, I had a challenge to wire it up to work as such. Dealing with old brittle wires is not fun.
