I don't see a thread for African Conservation Fund's (Roseann & Jonathan, et al) Inaugural Safari in Kenya.
They left last week and are posting a blog HERE. :safari-rig:

It looks like it's going to be a blast. :victory:
I'm bummed I couldn't make it this time but look forward to next year...

I've been reading their blog but unfortunately the comments section isn't working for me. Anyone else get a 404 when trying to comment?

I'm with Roseann on those Eagle Creek packing cubes. I've been a convert for about a year. Best thing for packing since the invention of zippers!

Hello all! Thanks, Ed, for posting this!

We're in Nairobi this week buying gear and getting the rest of things sorted out.

Do keep checking the Overland Journal blog for the updates, we'll try to "bump" here when we add something. I'm heading over to Celtel today to try to get a USB datacard so we can post from the bush.

The comments are turned off on the blog - it's too hard to filter spam on blogs, and comments sections are notorious for automated spammers.

Sorry about that!

Here's a little preview from the blog, of our fun ride:

You never said you had Troopies with THREE DOOR CONVERSIONS!!!!!

I'm hoping you'll have the opportunity to take some pics of how the third door is installed...

You're really bad for my budget DesertRose! I'm considering 2.8L Diesel conversions, and taking a plasma cutter to a perfectly good rig....

We're en route back to the states and will post some reports soon - still catching up!

It was a fantastic safari - a real adventure, pioneering a route that few people knew about (except the folks who live there!) and lots of locals told us could not be done. That was a big bonus.

We're already busy setting some dates for early 2009 for more trips.
