All new 2010 4runner revealed...

Last night we held the October Club meetings here at the Dealership and had a 2010 2wd 4Runner here from the Training Center. I drove and it is very nice. The economy mode seems to have a delay which if you have to accelerate fast seems like that may be an issue but I only tried it one time. It hesitates just a little. Don't get me wrong it still has plenty of power but it was something I did notice and I want to drive it some more to see if it is something to worry about or just something to get use to. The other thing I questioned were the window/lock controls mounted on the top edge of the door panel like on the Nissan. I am sure there are alot of ther things that could be picked apart but over all this still is a very nice 4Runner and one I would definately buy. I hated the 4th Gen when it first came out but love it now. This one looked good from the start and I am very interested to see how this one does in the market.

Here in southern California, most of the 4Runners/Tacoma's are 2wd. They are much cheaper to insure than a 4wd.

Haven't seen any Pathfinders run through it stock, period. :sombrero:

BTW, only see the front/rear bumpers and some door scuffs.

Saw this truck in person today. This thing was BEAT. You can clearly see the smashed headlights and tons of duct tape being used in the video.

well, that Toyota TDI V8 engine costs a pretty penny. perhaps the Hilux's 3.0L TDI in-line four would be more appropriate. How would that sway you? gas V8 automatic vs. diesel in-line four manual?

It would still sway me.

3.0L TDI would be enough torque for me :)

They need to get back to building Trucks!

? photo of a Highlander. What is the issue? WE would all love to have a 70 but Toyota will discontinue the FJ Crusier soon so we get the 4 RUNNER that will sell well. The 70 would sell well for two to three years at most then drop off as it would only apeal to a small (EXPO) group of people. Name a company that has a bare bones offroader (new) in the U.S.??? None as the market is to small. Maybe when the whole country is broke will we get the good stuff on the cheap.

I think the '10 is a step in the right direction. IMHO they are trying to close down the potential lost sales when the FJC goes away by offering the Trail Edition. Looks like a pretty good truck for the money if you want comfort/reliability and off road potential in a package that has broad appeal.

I want to see one/drive one before making any judgments.

I wish they had a manual 6-speed trans option on the Trail Edition.

Has anyone seen one without the slide-out floor? Is it flat.

The party mode speaker setting should be interesting :)

The Dec 2009 Four Wheeler Mag has a good article and pics of the 20104 Runner on the Rubicon. (same pics a s posted on this thread)
