Any info on this hard top?

It's all custom. Built from a Tamiya YJ RC model. Interior space is probably a little tight. 😀

Man, I wish I was Antman!

The Mahindra Jeeps had something similar, but not near as cool. On the plus side, it wouldn't require shrinkage...

My first thought was an Israeli Storm. Built in Bethlahem so you know they're good! Nice model though.....

SWB will rear overhang....
Short of what I had in mind....
Marine plywood would be too heavy I guess, especially if you cover it with poly.....
Maybe a custom soft top with steel frame....
The extra weight of the rear overhang could be supported by the hitch...
But then again, where does the spare wheel go?

Thanks BCobe.

Callling jsherb... jsherb to a white courtesy phone please.

Have you seen the Safari Top that Jeff (jsherb) has designed, and is building?
It might give you an idea of how to do it in a much lighter weight.
I'd want to build it in aluminum, but a good fiberglass job would work very well.
BTW: Model or real, it's pretty awesome!

Yes I did.
I've been a follower since his 1st post on the specific thread on Jeepforum.
I cannot work on the fiberglass as he does. Not many could.
But I can work on wood, steel and fabric.
I have a tent trailer for my family of four(parents and two kids),but we are thinking of geting another big dog
(my beloved golden retriever passed away two years ago).
So If this happens, things are going to be tight and two of us have to sleep in the Jeep.
Some would say roof top tent, but I never in my life went the easy way...

Here's something that could be made from standard fiberglass LJ Safari Cab parts except for the roof, which could be made from plywood ;)...

Yeah, Jeff does some awesome work!

OK, so priorities in place...

1st get the dog. Life without a dog isn't near as much fun as life with a slobbering, hair sheading, tail wagging buddy.
2nd, something quick and easy so you can enjoy the great outdoors with you new best friend.
3rd, start collecting all the materials to build your dream top.
.
Super-mutt and I wish you the best in your search!

I have always loved this too. I have it on my pinterest site and would love to see someone attempt to duplicate it on any type of Jeep. Whoever authored it shouldn't have stopped at the model :)
