Post up on Craigslist, maybe someone has a megawarrior and is looking to trade down to something smaller.

Yeah now I am thinking of doing that. After looking at my brothers load warrior, mine is a lot narrower too. The length problem would have been and easy fix. Hmmm.........

This current state of economic affairs, has me changing my suspension plans for the time being. My plan was to already have ordered my OME parts but, for now I'm going to have to go on the cheap for now. The front will remain as is (spacer w/factory Bilsteins), but I have to do something about the rear. The factory leaves w/block are just no good. I have done the minimum, ordered an Alcan AAL (2 inch), and some OME 182's. This will have to get me through the summer, and should considering I've been running as is for much longer than that. I know that in the long run this is not the cheapest way to go but, all things considered, I should spend as little as possible right now. It sucks too because trdpart4u had the Dakars on sale for $333 and change, but add shocks and shipping and your into 5 bills.

Well, yesterday I was going to install my AAL and shocks after work. I got one side all done and then moved to the other. The very last nut on the U-bolt came off half way and then wouldn't budge. I decided to tighten it back down and then inspected the threads. They looked fine, so I gave it another go. Got to about the same spot and again it wouldn't budge. So I gave it a little more oomph and.........SNAP! It broke.:Wow1: Great!
Hopefully today will be better.

Those Ubolts can be a problem - you're probably better off with a new set anyway.....

Got the new u-bolts and put in the AAL's yesterday. It rides much better than before. But the rear also sits a little higher than before and I'm getting that momentary driveline vibration. Nothing bad, and maybe when the rear settles a little it will go away. The AAL's had one lone side and one short. I wasn't sure what to do so I put them in with the short side to the front. Was this the right way to do it?

I've had no problem at all with that same compressor. I think mine was even a little cheaper at Costco

Your truck looks great!

you'll like that little compressor. I've ran mine for a couple years and its' been great. Some advice for it...it fills faster without the filter attached, and remove the quick disconnect element, it will eventually start leaking. Replacing it with a simple barb and hoseclamp will add reliability and it still fits in the bag perfectly! Oh and ACE has the barb, i had trouble finding the right size at lowes/home depot.

New rack configuration

So I've decided to change my roof....well, over the bed, rack. My current rack is too heavy for the small amount of cargo capacity it offers. I picked up a Yakima Load Warrior for super cheap and have set off lengthening it. It was no bigger than my other rack but a lot lighter.

I had a friend bend some ribs for the extra length.

Even with the extra length it still weighs less than the old.
I'm going to run some 1 1/2in square tubing down the sides of it to give it the strength it needs in the mid-section, and put tabs on it for mounting. Hopefully it will be completed by the end of the weekend.

The truck is coming together nice..:sombrero: You mentioned something about ARB not offering a snorkel which is true for now, but if I remember right TACODOC used a snorkel kit from the newer Hilux that fit the body like it was designed for the 05+ Tacomas.... Doubt it was direct bolt on so it may take some thought...
