ARB 4Runner Build

I'll be excited to see ...

the bill of materials. :Wow1: So that I can start saving, and work on convincing the wife.

Any word on non-lifting higher-weight springs for those of us that still need to fit our 4Runners into 6'8" parking garages?

We will post up a list of all the mods and ARB product once we have completed.

As for the coils, I will check with the tech manager to see if anything is in the works.

I really like the drawers and the fit looks super clean. After a recent break-in (had a nice air compressor and toolkit stolen) the security of my recovery gear is of heightened importance) I would love to better understand how they are bolted in, and how you guys have "finished" the sides where the drawers structure meets up with the interior trim plastic.

Ben

For this install, we removed the factory third row seats and bolted the drawer directly to the floor. As for the sides, we trimmed the factory plastic to give it a clean fit.

We are developing filler panels for the sides which will be vehicle specific. We have a filler panel kit on order for the Prada 150 which by the looks of the photos in Australia, should be the same as our 5th gen 4Runner.

If you want more info as to how they are mounted, send our tech department an email and they should be able to forward you some mounting instructions. The email address is tech@arbusa.com

How much is that tool that puts the amp stress load on a 12v socket?

We used 6 gauge from my battery to the BlueSea fusebox in the passenger footwell, but from the BlueSea back to the rear of the FJ we used 18 gauge red/black conductor wire.

My old school ARB fridge runs great though, picked it up at your warehouse back in the spring of 2007.
But I am wondering if I should use that tester like you guy's have, and see if I need to run a beefier wire from the BlueSea back to the outlets.
We installed two 12v outlets where the 110v factory outlet is.

MSRP on the tester is $151.00

If you have some free time, just stop by and one of us can plug our tester in your outlets.

Thanks, that would be great.
I get of work around 2 PM, maybe next week I can swing by.

I like the new compressor that is out, and I may have room here to install one.
I run a Powertank, but it is always a good idea to have a compressor too if the C02 runs out.

What size wire do you need to run?
If the compressor would fit on that space there by the Maglite, I could easily run wiring to the BlueSea box, that is if the 6 gauge from the BlueSea box to the battery is sufficient enough for the compressor.

The "double whammy" compressor pulls 50 amps under load according to ARB's spec sheet.... I was thinking the same thing and looked up the specs.

I would guess the 30 amp max load on the Blue Sea fuse block would put a stop to that.....

The small electric compressor on my trail buggy pulls 40 amps and has a dedicated 8ga wire directly to the battery with a 50 amp circuit breaker about 4" from the battery.....

YMMV RON

Whewww
It would be a good idea and utilize this old Phoenix Gold circuit breaker from an audio installation in my old rig, and run 4 gauge wire from my aux. battery to it, then another 4 gauge (presuming 4 gauge is big enough (it powered two huge Rockford Fosgate amps in the old rig) wire back to the compressor, then just ground the compressor with a short piece of 4 gauge wire in the back.

The new twin compressor comes with a pretty lengthy harness. If you use a power distribution block as we did, you would want a minimum of a 6 gauge wire. We used 4 gauge because the of the fridge, and other outlets plus we may be playing with a solar power system during the overland rally.

Next week is bad. A few of us will be out of the office for the NW Overland Rally and we will have visitors from Australia.

After next week, no problem.

I don't see this wiring loom in their catalog or the website...any idea where to get it, and the cost?

If you are talking about the ARB Fridge Wire kit, it is part number 10900011. MSRP $46.00. Any ARB distributors can get one coming to you.

Just have a few things here and there. Wish we got the black wheels in time for the Overland Rally, but the truck still looks really good!
