ARB fog light question.

Ok so my question is I want to put a set of arb's fog light surrounds in my bumper which doesnt have the option for them. Has anyone done this

You maybe wondering why I dont keep my lightforces where they are, the the reason is they are blocking the air flow into my rad. causing some heating issues and plus i want my fog lights a bit lower. I understand some cutting and welding will be required. Whats your opinion on this.

Don't waste your time. I have them and the lights are crap. They fill with moisture, the bulbs rattle out, and I've just been very disappointed with them.

Yes, can and has been done quite a few times. Shoot me an email (kurt - at -cruiseroutfitters dot com) and I can email you a pdf of the template, basically the shape that will need to be cut out of your bumper. Assuming there is room for the template, you should be able to pull it off, allowing clearance for the fasteners and the light housing itself of course. The housing and turn signals are available separately as are the fog lamps themselves of course.

Yeep! as a fog light they are useless, they look good but thats about it, they are way to high to ever function as a fog light, a fog light must be within 12" of the road surface to light up under the fog blanket.

Get real lights.
Hella Micro DE or Hella 90mm fogs come to mind as real foglights that work. Not too hard to french them in.

Thanks guys for the replys, I did read that some people were not happy with the arb fog lights and i read where a guy put his own 4" lights in, i want to go with the PIAA 510 ion yellow fog lights.

Another option to consider is give Pete at Main Line Overland a call, they are working on building a Rigid light pod to replace the ARB turn signal/fog light.

PIAAs are almost as bad as IPF and ARB.

Look around on this forum before wasting money on over-hyped toy store lights.

I've got the 30 degree spot one. I can tell you, it is my new favorite toy. This wee little guy is about the same as 6 Hella 4000s. A friend of mine got the combo light (half spot, half flood). They are epic win.

Seriously, it will light up everything and only pulls 9 amps. Oh and you giggle uncontrollably. Lifetime offers the best deal so engage.

Seriously, cut the crap, get the awesome. LED light bars bring it. Oh and the smaller ones Southeast Overland sells also provide medium pimping options if you can't handle the big daddy.

Bill, I should have clarified, I'm looking at putting in the Rigid lights for aux offroad lighting, not for a true "fog light". Just thought it would be a cleaner look over mounting lights to the top of the bumper. I think it's a better option over the IPF lights any day of the week.

Not legal to use on the road and the light isn't nearly as useful as HID or halogen for human vision.
I'll take a light meter to 6 Hella 4000s and one to that lightbar any time, Max. To make it interesting, let's do it at 75 yards across a 30 foot span.

Don't get me wrong; I like LED lighting. But I like LED lighting where it can do you good, where it makes sense. The LED light bars usually don't add value.

The little Rigid lights are great for sticking here and there for stupid-bright offroad work. That's value; a small package, flexible mounting, low power draw.

But you are correct, such light bar isn't road legal and actually useless on the road. The smaller lights would be better.

If nothing else, would be great data to actually get the lights in front of a light meter.

Ah, I was baiting you. Did it already. The light bar had 0 LUX and a pair of 4000s (with 100 watt bulbs) had almost 200.

4000s are killer driving lights.
Don't know what brand LED lightbar it was though.
