Sweet shot. I was there with 20 Scouts and 10 adults last July. 116 degrees on the hike down and hike out. Its still one of my favorite places to go. The water looks so much more blue in your picture than in any of mine. I love it when you guys that know how to take pictures go to the same places I've been. It gives me hope that I can do better. Did you hike down to Beaver Falls. There are some great cascading waterfalls there.

I cant be 100% sure, but it looks like you were there in Mid-Day, with straight overhead light (Looking at your shadows) Cruisertoy. One of the main reasons your image doesn't look like Clark's is his looks like it was either shot in very early morning, or very late afternoon, and almost looks like it was an overcast day or at least had some good cloud cover
Makes a lot of difference in the look. Plus, with a long exposure to smooth out the water like Clark did, it'll pick up more of the blues in the water due to it being exposed for a longer period of time

Your right on the timing and exposure. There wasn't a cloud in the sky the whole time we were there. The canyon is very narrow as well so shadows for fun. I'm trying to talk my wife into going down this summer or early fall. Being in charge of 30 people in the canyon definitely had its draw backs. Like the fact that my tripod somehow got left in the trailer at the parking lot. Good times with scouts. Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely worth it a photo trip itself. You guys inspire me.
