I have the short bed version. I looked on their site, but could find much info.

It would be nice to have safe, water/dustproof storeage.

As the family grows I am always looking for ways to stay mobile, keep it simple, and keep everyone happy in the process. Our RTT on top of the Horizon is getting a bit cramped.

Thanks,

Matt

Hey Matt! Yeah, the Flippac site is very weak on information. We hope to solve the knowledge base problem soon with a Flippac section to our site.

Yes there is a shortbed version for the taco. What year is yours?

That is the very old Comanche based on the what I think was called the J-10. Late 70's early 80's. My Comanche is part of the XJ/MY platform series which I think started mid 80's. I don't like the loss of storage fore & aft of the wheel wheels with the 4 wheel camper.

Hey Mario...

mine is an 05.

I think I saw a picture of a model on a Nissan Frontier that had a section over the cab. I think that one might work. I am not sure how much room would be inside with such a small bed.

How much do they run?

Would I be better off replacing the tent on my Horizon? I have the old AutoHome "Overland" tent.

Thanks,

Matt

Dual awning pictures

I got the second awning installed today and I have to say that the combined F-35s provide a lot of shade. It is nice to have the body mounts for the legs so that the rig can be repositioned with everything deployed. I have also provided a couple of interior tent shots to show the spaciousness.

Next installment will be LED interior and exterior lighting if all goes according to plan. Stay tuned!

Are there any size options that would allow an awning over the rear window? I was thinking (hoping, dreaming) about shade over the tailgate while cooking.

Love what I see so far, and am looking forward to your web page updates.

Refer to my earlier posts in this thread about rear awnings. This is something to still be worked out.

I must have been having a senior moment....sorry. Asked and Answered. I'm just tickled that I'll get a chance to check it out up close. Count me as a future customer/client.

Flippac weight

How much does the base Flippac weigh? I was following a Taco with one a few weeks ago on some twisty roads up here in the foothills and there seemed to be a noticable change in ride frequency and roll in the turns. Nothing that can't be managed but definitely a difference.

I contacted Flip-Pac about a unit last spring but never got any of the information we asked for. I was wanting to see if they made a unit with a single door in the back to replace the tailgate and flip-up rear window. Looking forward to better information on this product. It seems to be a very good option that is better than a tent and not as bulky as a full size truck camper.

Not heavy at all, not enough to cause that kind of lean in a corner! Flippac's come in at 250 for the smaller beds and 350 for the bigger beds. Four people can lift them off with ease.
