Aviation sub-category? Bush flying, helicopters, etc?

Still heading towards commercial? What’s the eventual plan?

Busy season has arrived up north. Time to kick people out of helicopters on snowy ridgelines.

Yessir, working on it now. Not sure where it's headed, definitely have no desire to teach, so I won't be messing with CFI. I'll grab my multi and then decide where to go from there. I have a heavy interest in flying Ag, but we shall see.

Anyone here fly high performance sailplanes?
I did for 25 years and you never quite get over it.
I have flown a sailplane over a 1,000km triangle and flown ridges at low altitude and high speeds.
This short video clip from New Zealand is more dramatic than anything I ever did.

I get that one for sure.

I didn’t CFI either, opting for part91 work instead. Cherry drying and then pipeline and wildlife survey. Have a bunch of fixed wing friends that built time doing pipeline in airplanes as well… might be a good time builder.

But glad to hear it! Keep us posted.

You need to come to Oz. :)

Man, I'd love that. Kind of like the ultimate backcountry experience.

Yea pipeline might be a good time builder for me. I am not opposed to it should it present itself. Right now I am trying to park my ******** in a tail wheel as much as possible.

We spent 2 months on that cattle station in the Pilbara (northern Western Australia), working for our keep.
A fantastic experience in some stunning country with great people.
They also had a R44 that the boss used just for prospecting with a friend, and a Cessna 150 that was used for commuting and cattle watering points inspections etc.
