Baja 1000 Tech Inspection

Yesterday, Nov.19th, the Baja 1000 Off Road Race tech inspection was held in Ensendada. I am guesstimating more than 10.000 people were there. I am attaching 8 photos taken during the event. As of 10 minutes ago(6am pst) the Baja 1000 Race started with motorcycles leading the charge. I am at mile 560 in Erendira and 10 hours from now the first bikes will arrive and then 2 hours later around 6:30 pm the Trophy Trucks will be roaring through.

Have they moved the fence line back where the track runs along the cliff side in Erendira?

Eric and Ryan used to be local boys. I remember first meeting them with their parents at a 4WD club's monthly meeting. Jeez, I'm getting old.......

The track has changed and now runs on the mountain side. Does not enter Erendira and does not run the ocean side until just before Punta Cabras when it comes out of the hills. A much more challenging course then last years 1000 and this years 500. A few days ago I rode the quad on the new track( actually last run 5 years ago but the opposite direction) and it was bitchen. My chances of getting photos will be limited by the fact the motorcycles will be coming in around 4:30 or 5 pm which should be getting dark and the trucks maybe 2 hours later.

I told the Baja Rack guys I had first heard of them on Expedition Portal and they are quite enthusiastic about this site. I promised them I would post the photo I took and I kept my promise. Really very cool guys and the racks are spectacular. My friend that was with me is going to be purchasing a rack for his Jeep Cherokee.
