Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

That looks great! Pretty cool that the long version fits without hitting the fender.
How would that compare to the Rotopax (sp?) units?

In this photo the Jeep has a Rotopax 2-gallon container on the opposite side mount, you can compare it to the earlier photo of the sample. The Rotopax is more square; the sample one is longer and narrower and has a bit more capacity (10 liters/2.6 gallons). Both are roughly the same thickness.

Is there any difference between the two as far as opening the doors?

In any case, both are pretty cool ways to carry more fluids, and it just dawned on me, that bracket might make a nice spot for an antenna mount that would be more "substantial, than the standard fender mount plate.

Way ahead of you on that one, the driver's side mount comes with a hole for mounting an antenna. In this photo I've got a CB antenna mounted there. It's in the same location as the factory antenna on the other side, so when you put a CB antenna in the driver's side mount you get a bit of a "twin trucker" antenna look...

I'm not sure what the best price for Rotopax containers + mounting studs is these days, but I've been in touch with the company that manufactures these and based on their pricing/shipping and import duty cost, it looks like the 10 liter (2.6 gallon) container could retail for less than $70 including the mounting stud.

The mounting stud bolted up to my side mount and hinge mount with no drilling using the mounting holes in them for Rotopax studs, so I'm guessing they would bolt up most places that are designed for Rotopax, such as swing away carriers that have provisions for Rotopax.

I don't sell anything so I won't take this any further myself, but I may see if I one of the companies I've done designs for might be interested in them.

Looks like a Jeep accessories company is interested in the liquid containers, so I've put them in touch with the manufacturer.

I'm done that now, so I'll move on to my next idea...

I was thinking it might be useful to have a spare cover with a Molle grid on it, and maybe a pocket on the inside so I decided to sew one to see. I had some ACU camo fabric on hand so that's what I'm using for the prototype. I've also got ACU webbing for the Molle grid and a zipper on hand for the pocket that's goes reasonably well with ACU. I'm part way through construction...

I'm getting ready to do a little home carpentry, so today I put the Safari Cab roof rack to work bringing home a new door.

Another thing I saw at SEMA that intrigued me are these modular LEDs. They're a powerful 10w LED with lens in an aluminum case/heak sink and designed to be assembled into any combination - light bars, round clusters, etc. Seems like with the right mounts for Jeeps they would provide very customizable lighting - you could configure them in any combination as you needed for specific lighting needs.

I've been emailing with the company that makes them getting more details on how they go together and mount and I may ask them for a few samples to experiment with.
