Now I might be being a bit pedantic but shouldn't the tread pattern match the tires on the rig
Hehe. I don't think that's supposed to be a tread pattern. Just a....dunno, hash mark pattern? Anyway not treads, but I DID look at tread patterns and in the end decided I liked it as is. I've seen that pattern used in movies around areas that are meant to be "secure" or to denote some special status. Like around the hatch to a containment area of some sort.
I also thought that background was some kind of fictional world map, but the more I looked and thought about the theme I decided it isn't. I imagine it's what some sort of viral infection might look like under a scope.
Got to put your sci-fi movie thinking cap on for this one I believe.
I thought about changing/eliminating the triangle, but not for that reason so, good point!
Thought inside a circle maybe, but leaning toward nothing at all, just the symbol.

If these things had steel bodies, just think of the possibilities we would have by using magnetic backed graphics...

We (the DoD FD) bought a 3' wide roll x length unknown, but it was about 12" in diameter, and it was around $3,000.00. Of course this was for the US government so it probably came from the same place that sells those gold plated toilet seats and hammers.

Actually, this was a roll of very thin (1/16" maybe) rubber magnet material. Since all of our small vehicles were provided by Public Works and Transportation Department, we could not paint them, so we put our FD Maltese Cross emblem on the rubber sheeting material, cut them out, and stuck them on the doors.

Pat, you gotta remember that the MIL is their own worst enemy when it comes to spending money. Years ago, I got a request to quote on a field lubricator -- that's a truck mounted skid assembly complete with grease & oil drums, pumps, air compressor, hose reels, and all the rest to make a portable lube station. When I started reading the specs, I realized that someone had snipped and pasted pieces of data from our catalog, and our competitor's catalogs, to build a composite universal spec. Their universal spec drove us crazy - lube delivery was quoted at different temperatures throughout the document, some delivery rates were quoted for the bare pump, and others for the pump, reel, hose, and dispenser tip. If they had shortened the whole thing to just what they wanted it to do instead of telling us how to do it, it would have been a lot easier. They do the same thing to many products.
Consider what could happen to a stepladder with MIL requirements: They would want a unique step spacing, they would want non-standard aluminum side rails, they would want MIL spec rivets, and they would want the supplier to destroy 4 of them in a series of performance tests - plus, the whole order might only be for 12 ladders.
It's a little better thee days - many of the old, multi page specs have been eliminated, and they just order from a GSA catalog.
The magnetic material you bought might have been a unique thickness, or a different formulation, or needed 12 different sets of paperwork.

OK, youngster -- Google ""slide film", "Ektachrome" & "slide projector". Or prowl through a Goodwill store until a projector shows up. Oddly enough, there was a newspaper article the other day that said that Kodak is making more Ektachrome slide film than they had in recent years - apparently, some of the commercial users like the colors and the definition versus digital.
No no. I wish I were young enough, ergo I'm not. Crikey, I used to make copies by banging out an original document on a stencil and then cranking it around on a mimeograph machine till I was blue in the face.

Some of the things built to mil specs are true works of art. I have a WWII (ish) vintage winch which was built out of an aircraft landing gear motor. It has an internal flywheel, planetary gears, 8 heavy duty brushes, sealed bearings, precision machining, and castings that are works of art. On 12 V it'll pull about the same amount as an 8k winch... I can only imagine what it'd pull with 24 V.
That said... I can only imagine what it cost. It probably was retired even though it fully functional... my gain

The original image was mud splash on a wall :sombrero: but on the side on the ambo it look exactly as you said, an infection or something like that . Did you receive the link to the graphic without the rectangle? Do you want me to try to update the graphic with the circle instead of the triangle or try the other ideas in the previous posts?
Maybe no triangle or circle at all? Wife says lose the triangle, so I'm assuming she'd say lose the circle as well. Plus I think I could swing adding one via gimp if I really wanted to see it.
Not sure what other ideas you mean, but if you feel up to it and are enjoying doing it, go for it. I dont want to take too much advantage here, but I REALLY appreciate what you've done so far. Got the ball rolling for sure. Thanks a whole freakin bunch.
