I have never been to his shop but robert from green dog rover in oregon has been an immense help to me via phone

In the Denver, Colo. area there is MIT Automotive (http://www.mitautomotive.com/) in Evergreen and British 4x4 (http://www.british4x4ltd.com/) in Aurora. I would trust either of them completely. There is another independent shop that is tied to the local Rover club, but I would view them as a last resort.

X2 with MIT. Rob is great and one of the few mechanics I trust.

Trevor is a great mechanic and true enthusiast out in Elizabethtown, PA. Not too far from parts of NJ.

It's amazing how many "British 4x4" independents have popped up since Land Rover cracked down on the use of "Land Rover" and "Rover" by non-affiliated businesses.

Cityside Garage in Holliston, MA is the only shop I trust to work on my DII. They are a Land Rover-only shop and will do every from an oil change to build you "new" Defender from scratch. Technical ability is one thing (and they have boatloads of that) but I've never had the trust in a garage the way I do with these guys.
