Nice capture. I love catching them in flight.
My local Coopers Hawk came back today. This is the same lens but on my new 7D.
And a few cruising Roadrunner shots. I love how well the focus tracking works on this camera. :wings:
And one of him just hanging out fluffing his head feathers.

Very cool. That's why we do this. It's nice giving a 3 year old a smile. :wings:
They are speedy little guys. I got lucky and was in the right place at the right time.

All winter I watched a family of bald eagles just off the interstate. They just left the nest for the season. Sad to see them go, but it was fun watching the juveniles. Unfortunately, traffic there is moving about 80mph with a narrow shoulder so I haven't YET found a way to get some shots. The 50' tall cypress tree that holds the nest is in the middle of a swamp, and a ground level shot wouldn't come out anyway.

Great roadrunner shots!! I've only seen those a couple of times, and they are fast - beep beep!

Thanks for the comments on the Roadrunner shots.
We have a ton of them running around my neighborhood all the time. Since they seem to have a following I'll see if I can't capture a few more for the RR fans.:elkgrin:

A few more Roadrunners
For you Roadrunner fans here are a few more from this morning. They are not as crisp because he surprised me and I didn't do a very smooth job with my panning of him on the run. I was also using 1.4 TC that I think softened the images a bit.
Still fun though.

Yep, just stretching out and getting loose before he starts hunting for lizards. I'll have to see if I can catch one of those lizard meals. :elkgrin:
