Nice pics guys. The wife and I volunteer at Wild Bird Rescue here in Wichita Falls every baby bird season (April thru July), and each year we get the Mississippi Kites, over 100 this year due to the drought. No rain, which means no bugs (dragon flies are main food source), which means babies are starving and weak so they fall out of the nests and we rescue them. Of course we also get lots of barn owls, horned owles and barred owls, along with screech owls. One year we got this poor Great Horned owl that was covered, literally dripping wet with molasses. The farmer that brought him in said mice were feeding on the tub of molasses when the owl spotted it, tried to grab the mouse, and flipped right in. Took us two days of washing the poor thing in Dawn liquid soap before we got it all out and the owl got his oils back into its feather before we could release it.

I just got a canon rebel 2 this last Christmas and haven't had it out to take pictures of the owls in this area.....YET! I'm a Master Naturalist and I do owl callings for special events a the local state park each year and sometime I call in a few nice owls.
No they don't have phones to call them on!
