I decided it was a good idea to take it on a shake down run. I drove it like I stole it. Well not that hard. But harder than normal.
I went up Skyline from Bountiful and down through Farmington. I left my truck and trailer at the B and took the rover on the loop.
Got above 9200 feet. No smoking, no issues without having a turbo. I like it. I’ve driven it about 100 miles today and used less than a quarter tank.
The only issue I had was dropping the rear shaft. The pinion bolts fell out because I didn’t use lock nuts. Luckily I had just enough tools and my old stock bolts in my tool bag to stick it all back together. 20 minutes later I was back on my way.
Some pictures. My wife went with me. We had a good time.
We tested the truck and trailer combo. It works very well. I just need to rewire the trailer brakes tomorrow.
My wife decided to take a picture of behind the wheel.
Testing out my 9” led lights.
