building the Bullet XV

All the drawers glides, as well as the dresser glides are ‘KV 8400RV’ stay-close precision drawer glides. These glides are made for RV's, & require a pull of about 13 lbs to open, then they glide as normal, there’s a spring pull assembly in the last 3″ of the gliding motion pulling them closed. Hopefully 13 lbs will be enough to keep drawers closed while off-roading, but latches can always be added.
I did make a wood 'spring' latch for the sliding dresser, you simply push up on a curving piece of poplar under the bed platform, & it releases the dresser to slide right for access.

Nice, thanks. I'll check those out. I added pins on the drawers for my fridge and freezer, but don't really want to do the same for my lighter weight drawers.

this is absolutely the most awesome built I have seen. Congrats.

Now, why can't we have similar design in a Sportsmobile...or any other NA camper...

One other option you have,THETONKA, which I used on the two cabinet doors, is a push latch. I got these at a local RV parts store, & the nice thing about them is they are 1/2' thick, which means you can also use them on drawer sides, above the glides, as almost all glides are 1/2' thick. I may add these if I find I bounce this rig around too much for the 13lb pulls.

these come in 5 & 10lb pulls, & I think I paid like $4.00 for them

& 2AROUNDTHEWORLD, because Sportsmobile hasn't called me for advise on how to go broke!,
There's really no good way to mass produce these shapes, unless they're out of plastic.
(I say that, but I really haven't thought very hard about mass production, I'm sure I could come up with some way, but who would pay what it costs)

I can't really say it cost too much for the materials, but I've put two years labor, nights & weekends, that part's hard to enumerate, but easy to remember & enjoy.

Now back to the exterior (after like 7 months inside).. ...

I'm more of a 3D designer than I am a 2D designer, so I waddled my way through so many photoshopped images they all started to look the same.
here's the evolution.. ...

it's a bit of a gamble, whenever you let someone else do something artistic, & you're a pretty picky artist yourself, but I do trust these painters, I felt (after many options) like they got what I was aiming for.. ..
we'll see.. .. here we go..

I always wanted to put a grey shadow outline of my jeep or the wife's rhino on the back door of my toyhauler.

I really like the idea of the landscape along the side. I'd chose rock myself, but that's just me.

Watch this build from the begining... as others have wrote, it's the BEST!
Glad to see that it will be done soon. Hope you have a lot of great trips with it.

Please take the time to do a complete photo shoot of the finished Rig and post here and your web site.

You've come a long way Baby!
