I was always under the impression it was not "illegal" to copy something for personal use. But, I can't find that in writing. It appears maybe one could be sued, though it wouldn't be worth the effort for something like this.

I think that you would usually have to proved that you were "damaged" by the other person using your design... If someone bought one from you, then the damage would be a lost sale from the patenting vendor. Making one of your own would be hard to prove as damaging the patent holder, even as a lost sale.

Please put those pictures back up. You haven't done anything illegal or morally wrong. Don't deprive the rest of us from a cool build and great info because someone has a pet peeve! I learn a little bit each time I read one of these build threads. Thanks for posting.

Looking good- how do you intend to join the outer wood to the frame ?
sealing the corners etc

Depending on the interior and gear you intend carrying you may find a 2000lbs axle a bit weak- clarify on road no issues but off road the stresses are higher
