I had called Compact to ask about flipping the hinges, they advise me not to do it. Glad it worked for you, I need to flip my lid too.

Im pretty sure it might void my warranty...but I didnt wanna have to re-design the entire interior to make it work..

I just bought this fridge and it lasted ONE day on unpaved roads.
Returning it as soon as I get out of woods. All roads were FS roads,
there was no rock climbing or anything crazy. If you can afford the
other fridges don't waste your time. I am really bumbed I got to repack
and ship it back.

I am currently in and out of the woods so I am out of touch and have not called customer support. It worked fine for a whole week at the house driving on paved roads around town. Did not drain battery etc. Ok so now I head out on five day trip in the arkansas ozarks traveling on FS roads. On day two noticed power off. I go check connections and lights come on and compressor also. All is good. A few minutes later compressor is off and temp is 51 when asking for 38. Stays like that for awhile and compressor wont stay on.

Now I am pissed since no beer and losing food and deep in woods. We head for nearest town and a cooler and ice. Since were late we can not find campsite they are all full so head to cabin. It would not work on cabin power and started smelling electrics burning so turned it off. Now its holding dirty clothes. Cant trust it so its going back!

Mines been running for over a month, both in the garage and in the back of the Jeep. Been on some back trails way off camber and bounced around some and even the stock plug is still working great.
By the way at the end of the day everyone wanted "drinks" out of my fridge:victory:

I made it through about half the post several months ago and have one on order right now. Question is, do any of the other brand insulating covers fit this unit? Thanks, Jeff

My only trouble has been with the stock DC plug. It would not stay connected in the back of my FJC, so I bought a post-style DC plug from Radio Shack and it won't stay in either. I'm going to try another as soon as I can get by Radio Shack. I think the problem is mostly with my FJC though and not the fridge's plug.

wish mine was as good as all of yours. I am finally back from trip and will call company tomorrow. I hate to lay down the dollars for an arb or engel but I can not have this thing crapping out on me on the second day of a five day off road trip.

Memcruiser,
Have you checked the simple things yet (connectors behind the controller, fuse, plug, etc.)?
