Could I also trouble you for a decent picture of the side handles, and how they are mounted to the fridge body?

Thanks,
Gavin

Has anyone bought the Edge Star 86 Qt. Portable Fridge / Freezer FP860? I do many extended adventures and need the larger capacity.

I was ready to place an order on line for the one at Home Depot, I applied for a HD credit card. You get 10% off on 1st purchase, they had 10% off on appliances, 12 months same as cash no interest. Problem was you can't get the 10% for 1st time purchase on line, can't combine the discounts and it has to be ordered on line. So all I got was the 12 month offer.
I decided not to do it.
I went back and re-read the posts on this thread and and went to Compactappliance.com to the open box link and found they were out of them. They were also offering free shipping & 10% off an open box fridge. I called to ask when they might re-list them and they had only one.
I snagged it for 314.10 total!
Great price should be here by the end of the week. :wings:

The fridge showed up yesterday while I was at work. My daughters drug the huge box into the living room where it sat until I got off at noon today.
It came well packed

The inner package had been opened before but was still packed good.

The lid is a little to tall to open where the fridge sits with the rear seat up, the fridge cant move forward, but you can still get things out the fridge could be turned to face across the rear also.

I might need to move the 12v oulet I'm worried the fridge will rub against the plug and break it.

Another reason to get a trip going so I can test out the fridge.
Thanks for pointing me towards this great find and price.

Field test

I got back last weekend from a 10 day journey out West, using my Edgestar I got a few months ago when the price was under $400. I am happy to report that the fridge held up just fine, and kept things ice cold for the duration of the trip. I drove over 5,000 miles, of which about 200 miles of it were off road, and hit some rough spots of washboard that I had to slow way, wayyyyy down for quite a few times on the Toroweap Trail, always thinking in the back of my mind " well, that series of jolts and bounces HAD to have killed the fridge ". Nope. Still humming along. This was my first trip with a 12V fridge and wow, what a big difference over having to deal with an ice chest and melting ice and replacing ice and soggy food....etc etc.

Thanks again to this forum for a great find.
