Cheap sportsmobilesque van projecct on daBay

First thing to do is eliminate that funky dual, opposing trac-bar arrangement. And, from discussing this in Wanderer's thread, this isn't simple.

It always seems to be one thing that sticks out when I read about vehicles for sale. What jumped out at me on this one that the VIN on the door pillar matched the paperwork but the one on the dash didn't. So the suggestion was to remove or cover the one on the dash. Sort of raised the hairs on my back a little.

Wow. That's what I get for not reading the post more carefully. Not that I'm interested in buying it, but if I had noticed that I would have pointed it out.

I had a CJ-7 that was missing the VIN plate on the dash. When I registered it in CO the police inspector told me that it didn't matter, that only the one on the frame was important. If a vehicle is ever rebodied, it keeps the frame VIN and title.

Not that I'm trying to make excuses for this one. A potential buyer would definetly want to know the history behind the mis-matched VINS.

Sorry 'bout the typo in the title...

I don't know anything about Pathfinder conversions, or anything else, but it seems that just the pop-top would be worth the $3K Buy It Now price...

Wow. Thats a good project looking for a place to happen. If only I were looking for another van project. Yes, the top alone costs much more than that. And already having the top installed means that its not just a "work in progress" but a "work/play in progress".:) Work on it one weekend; play in it the next.

While these full size vans are no Jeep CJ, they are a little more nimble than most might suspect. I've spent this last season following SMBs around the mountains. Not too bad at all.
