I am glad to see you are having good luck with your truck. I still question how long the trans will last, and I still disagree with you putting ANY gasoline in your fuel military 6.2 or not. But it is your truck not mine. Thanks for all the pics and info as well.

As for the AC if you have the room for it I would for sure go with the later 96 style pump it is way more efficient and reliable. If you do get an early style R4 pump get a brand new AC Delco pump, not a worthless chinesemexican rebuilt part store brand, unless you like to change pumps every year.

And to Diesel Tahoe, Good to see another 2dr Diesel, there are not many of us.

Hey Eric,

How thick are your cooling fans?

I just installed a beautiful new .5" tube 4-row, it fits like factory -- but I've only got 2.25" of clearance for an electric fan.

Think I can cut down the mechanical fan shaft stub?

so my rover will go true another surgery, this time we will put T56 6 speed manual transmission, my goal is to reach 35+ mpg. 1600 rpm during 70 mph .)

the question is how?do you make transmision made to run on 2wd corvette work on 4wd rover

the answer is??? :) :)

T56 is on its way. long ratio with heavy duty clutch ready for 450 hp. ( my 6.2 can dream of that hp) haha

NO WAY :)

that day i really wanted the defender , but i am thinking . there is no way that defender is worth that much money, its same as my classic range rover or any other disco
just because they don't pass USA regulations and they are not imported it doesn't mean it has something special
it just looked cool that's all.. it wouldn't give me any advantage over the rrc or disco.

i spent so many good days with my rover, its been super reliable 4x4 for me.
90% of the bolts used on it are aircraft bolts or grade 8. that's how i put this car together, it has no spot of rust, still original paint. and i dont need money. (space yes)
so i decided to keep her, just change it to 6 speed manual. this way everything will be solid unit.
but i still have to take another 800 mile trip with my rover this coming weekend before we start the job.

i share the same thing with defenders only looks i was never impressed by there lack of comfort and the non panoramic view .
as for 6 speed have you ever wondered what will be your final RPM if you changed your transfer case ratio fora 1/1 instead of 1.2

i think the way it is, it should be around 1600 to 1700 rpm. i didnt know we can re gear the transfer sace,

6.2 makes peak power at 1750 rpm i think.

first i am gonna try just the t56 with normal lt230. see how it is,

the only problem is my rover will be down for another month or so. i was gonna drive to origon for salmon fishing, i guess i have to take one of my hummers and transfer all the camping gear and the tent on it

using the corect #s my rover will be traveling 65 mph at 1561 rpm

what i have now at 65 mph engine rpm is 2298 rpm

thats gona be 750 rpm deferance .

this if i use close ratio T56 if i use wide ratio the engine rpm at 65 mph will be 1780 witch is not bad also.

well for the other gears i am gonna have the option to shift, so its never the same. but for the maximum fuel economy on the freeway 6 gear at 65 less than 1600 rpm.

i also did calculate what you have in there 5 speed land rover gear box it comes out the same as ZF 22
2260 RPM
6.2 makes its peak power at 1700 rpm. anything over that is going down. so u wanna stay from 1500 to 1900 rpm max.
on gas engine the higher the rpm the more power diesel is not like that.

remember running hot problem? lol that's because of over revving the motor,

lets say driving 3.9 gas land rover on the freeway at 4500 rpm what's gonna happen? :)

cannot wait to see the result ,i can reach the same rpm with the 33inch tires and 1.001 tcase.
