How much did it cost you to rebuild the 4.0L?

We went through everything but the bottom end. The cylinder walls/pistons looked great and the crank/rod bearings were in great shape.

Total cost was about $1200 (retail price) for all the parts and machine shop work - NOT including Labor!

Rough list includes -
Resurfaced head
Valve job
Head Gasket
Head Bolts
Oil pan Gasket
Oil Pump
Timing chain & gears
Timing cover/crank seal
Water pump
Thermostat
Distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs
Crank sensor
Coil

We also scaled and painted the block, sandblasted and painted valve cover, fuel rail, and oil pan. Blasted and clear-coated all aluminum

Well, we have the MT wheels and Duratracs in, but we also went with a winter set to get around on ;)

It's always good to buy local. I'm anxious to see how that bed turns out, I think it's going to look greart.

Yeah, between moving, office, FC build... it's been 4 months of not sleeping. BUT damn, we've got some good brew companies in the UP!! ;)

Love this build. I dream of having an FC project of my own some day. Looking forward to see how this comes out. Super bummed that the original camper fell apart though, would have been epic.
