Convert Freightliner SEE to Camper

Guys,

There is a used Freightliner/MB SEE on local Craigslist that looks like it would make a good platform for conversion to camper. Plan would be to remove backhoe bucket and front end loader bucket and all mechanical systems supporting these. Basically, strip it down to flat bed and then install camper box. Has any one attempted this before. Can the smaller MB truck chassis support the camper etc.?

I'd suggest putting your question on the Benzworld Unimog forum.
I'm not a SEE expert but they do have a shorter wheelbase and not an excess of power and a lesser GVM. Also remember most Mogs including the SEE are not designed to cruise much over 50mph.
