I'll be there. I'm signed up for the overnight run and then will be staying in town. Slickrock Campground was all full, which surprised me because I registered early.

I'll be seeing you down on the overnighter! We just pre ran the overnighter trails; Arch Canyon and Hotel Rock, this last weekend and had a blast.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing. I'm really looking forward to the trip, especially since I hear that Arch Canyon will likely be closed to vehicular traffic after June.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that (my fingers are still crossed) but at a minimum it will be a permit only trail, and the last couple miles will likely be closed :(

Sooo....what if you are new to the whole idea of Cruise Moab....

Is it too late to sneak inn?......What the rules?.......Last time i was in Moab....I didn't see any gates on the town.......It's still a free land right???

I'm sure all the campgrounds, Hotels, and etc...are all taken up......

Cruise Moab puts on trail runs and dinners at night???

Just wondering????...A low down would be great from past attendeeds (in's & out's)!

Official registration is full. We do typically fill up pretty fast. The BLM limits us to 200 vehicles on the trails at any one time. What registering gets you is guided runs, a dinner Friday night and some other perks. You are right, Moab and SE Utah are not gated for the event, so you are free to run the trails, just don't expect attendees to spot or help you (although we're a friendly bunch in the TLCA, no one would leave you stranded). 16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
I am 100% for supporting the event and Rising Sun of course, I have registered in the past and it is definitely the way to go if you really want to do the event and od it right. That said, it always sells out fairly early and I have run it renegade a bunch of times and always had a blast, running trails on our own with other renegaders and/or on your own schedule.. That said IMO it is not kosher to tag along with an official trail run as that is what these guys have paid for and not cool at all.. So we run them on our own... So that is the plan again this year..

I think even when not camping in the CM campground (which is a blast through) I think we all still find ourselves spending a lot of time there and that is totally cool IMO... Then if you want to go to the official dinner you can buy a ticket and as many raffle tickets as you want.. The raffle is long but unreal the quantity and quality of stuff... Anywhoo Kristian if you want to roll down sounds like I'll be hanging with/probably camping with a bunch of guys our age... Still unsure if we'll be in the campground or out on BLM land... Possibly a little of both.. :) We'll be hanging with a bunch of us all about our same age, you're welcome to come and/or hang out! I've had some great times at Cruise Moab.. Half the time I've been I have not even had my own truck, I finally have a truck this year again (been about two years) that will be fine on a lot of trails, but am plan to mountain bike at least a day or two as well :)

Basecamp is the Slick Rock campground, a pay campground on the North side of town.... You are supposed to be a paying member to hang out there (so it should be be ablused) but the event becomes center of the campground. In the past the Texas crew has brought kegs and had BBQ, it is a great basecamp... Kurt will be in his red 4 door tacoma and I'll be in my ~4" lifted burgundy min truck, definitely feel free to track either of us down, as mentioned I think he/we are in campground #25 or just ask around.. We will probably be hanging with the Proffitts Cruisers group quite a bit and they always have 3-4 spaces and a big area/enrouage.. I think we have a couple nights of reservations there, we may stick around or take off or camp on the BLM land... Last year I took off I think on Friday and did (for me at least) a fairly epic trip through Blanding down to Bullfrog/Lake Powell, the Burr Trail, Boulder Utah, and back through the swell... It was awesome... I was realy hoping to run one of the cool roads that takes you down to Elephant Hill possibly this year... I dialed my truck to have lots of uptravel and little down travel so that means lots of fun hauling *** on some dirt roads personally :) It is the first truck I've owned that I'd probably even feel comfortable jumping I suppose :) It doesn't have lockers or big tires so I am more about using it to explore this year...

A little late to post now, but I would recommend staying at Portal Campground which is right behind Slickrock. Nicer bathroom facilities. Not quite as hectic and they have some nice grass. It isn't all cottonwood and red moon dust.

You can't tag along renegade on the official runs. They are only allowed X number of vehicles on each trail and the BLM does check up on them. It sure would suck if someone screwed it up for this event.

Some of the "renegade" runs have been the most fun when I've been there. I always sign up but then Sat. I usually do my own thing.

It is a great social event. Great trails. And it is so nice to put names and faces together.

Andre, it has been a long time since LSLC had their awesome tent. I think the last time they were there was like 2002, maybe 03. I'm missing again this year, last year I did Rubithon instead. DARN! DARN! DARN! I wish I was going. I hope to make it next year.
