1" clamps on the upper. I felt it would be too low on the lower bar.

It would also make it damn near impossible to get to my RTT hardware if mounted on the lower bar

Haha, true, but only on the driver's side.

The biggest reason though is the height, the upper bar puts it at a good height on my rig.

A big thanks to Bobby at CVT and the GB organizer...just got my tent today. It shipped perfectly with no damage and a quick setup everything checks out great, quality is outstanding.

I was told the week of or after 19 April. I am in New Mexico.

I was also told around April 19th. Making me nervous. I leave for a trip on May 2nd and I am counting on this tent to be my home.

I got my tent on time but the company shipped the extension ladder separated and it took more time to be delivered and unfortunately was not on time for my trip, so I had to make my own extension ladder (patent pending ).
It just an personal observation.
