I will try and get those night shots tonight. Hey Tombodad, always down to meet up for a day or wheeling or a camping trip out in that area. too bad the weather is alread turning, it would be great to go up around rim rock lake area. PM me some time, I think I am going to head out today with a buddy and try and find a trail or two around Hood.

I am parked facing downhill a bit, but it gets the point across. the house in front of me is about 50 feet away. looks like I need to adjust the aim of the KC's and LED's a bit too, but it gets the point across.

not my truck but...

a buddy and I made a front bumper for his 03' CC long bed this weekend. its been in the plans for a while, and well we finally pulled the trigger. its all 3/16" and 1/4" plate steel with a 2.5x2.5L angle along the top edge to give a nice crisp line. has a hidden winch mount inside. he is taking it to get line x'ed this week. all said and done should be around 200$ in material and finish coating. here is a couple crap cell pictures of it primed and dry fit, I will get some better shots once its final coated and mounted up. not bad though for 2 guys 2 days and a case of beer! ha.

thanks man. its the first "large scale" metal project either of us have taken on. just measure twice and take your time, was not too bad.

That's an awesome setup you have there, and I especially like that bumper! Clean lines, yet fully functional.

yeah! welcome! I have had two nissans before my 07', both had the same (almost identical from 86.5' to 04') frame and suspension thats on your 00'. if you need any help working on anything let me know, happy to help. my buddy with the 04' (shown with the cutom bumper above) just did some major suspension work aswell so I know a couple tricks for working on the suspension now. good luck with the camper build and keep us posted.

Great, thanks a lot! I may need some help with the mods. So far I just cranked the torsion bar some (2") and plan to do AAL and UCA sometime later. My truck is a 2WD, and I'd like to keep it as light and fuel efficient as possible.

Don't want to do distract from your awesome thread, but here a photo from my truck. Hey, you don't happen to know a good place to get aluminum sheets here in Portland?

nice. be carefull with torsion bar cranks. did you re-index them or just go for straight crank? i have had a aftermarket torsion bar strip the mounting (tourque arm) completly, leaving the truck dead with no suspension on one side. But you should be much lighter with 2wd and no bumper/winch up front. as far as aluminum: I am not sure of any cheap source, but may want to try pioneer sheet metal, streimer sheet metal or skyline sheet metal. they are all flashing/sheet metal companies that make copping and flashing for buildings, but probably ave a good connection for getting sheets of aluminum. good luck,

Yikes! That sounds expensive. I didn't have to re-index. Hopefully my truck is light enough that I don't have to do that.

Hey thanks for the pointers to those sheet metal places. I'll quiz them about sources. Thanks again. I'll start a new thread and report about my camper shell when it looks a little more done. Having a ball building though.

Went camping out on the Oregon Coast this last weekend. ended up raining (to say he least) Friday night and Saurday morning, but then cleared right up and was just amazing weather. could not ask for better weather any time of the year on the oregon coast! anyway, here is a couple shots. my camera was set onto some "scene" mode all weekend so some pictures turned out rather blurry. This is the first time we have used the camper this winter, over 2 months since we last went out. so it was nice to dust it off and sleep in it again. for those of you that dont know the oregon coast, all the camp grounds are asphault, your stacked on top of each other, and usualy little to no cover. Though in the winter you can usualy find a whole corner of a campground to your self.
