PS - I never complimented your bumper - very cool. So no powdercoating for you? What's your plan for painting it?

Thanks.

I mounted it for the run... but it is going in for sandblasting and black powdercoat :)

Looking good Dave. The new bumper really ties it all together.

It's a very good feeling to see you back home, enjoying time with your family, working on the truck and getting out on the trail again.

Question about your CB mount. I'm swapping out my Cobra 18 for a Cobra 75, and was thinking about options for mounting the junction box. According to Cobra, the junction box needs to be mounted providing "a good electrical connection to the chassis." But in your case, didn't you mount your box to the back of the center console? And it seems like I've seen others that have mounted the box somewhere other than to a grounded metal surface.

I suppose I could run a separate grounding wire for the box if needed...

It has not been an issue. I grounded the wiring only and it is GTG.

OK, so I pulled the bumper off today after work so I can get it cleaned up for powdercoating... and as I removed it, it swung wild and dented my rear quarter on the bottom edge...

Now I have paint lifting from the dent... and it will rust.

So, I guess now I'll have to Line-X the rear quarters and the fender flares! :wings:
