Looking good Dave. The new bumper really ties it all together.

It's a very good feeling to see you back home, enjoying time with your family, working on the truck and getting out on the trail again.

:iagree:

Sorry to hear about the dent...it always hurts more when the dents happens off the trail...:(

but line-x is just so rugged on the sides, it'll look good. I just removed my flares and put line x in it's place as well as on the rocker panels and I LOVE IT. Get-r-done, I wanna see!

Thanks Mark.

Here is a rough MS Paint of my Line-X idea... flares, rockers, rear quarters and that's it.

OK, so I pulled the bumper off today after work so I can get it cleaned up for powdercoating... and as I removed it, it swung wild and dented my rear quarter on the bottom edge...

Now I have paint lifting from the dent... and it will rust.

So, I guess now I'll have to Line-X the rear quarters and the fender flares! :wings:

Ooo, sorry about that. I had a few close calls when I was working on mine. My problem is I forget to open the gate all the way when opening the tailgate:oops: The right side of my tailgate is getting a little ugly looking.

LOL... Im glad im not the only one who has done this repeatedly!

Dave, sorry about the fender, but it sounds like this is what you need to "talk yourself" into doing the lineX...:) I do things like that from time to time, and it always works out better in the end.

Just like when my wife complained about sleeping in the semi cramped quarters of our camper shell.... Ok, so now I need a roof top tent, a new rack to hold it, plus my lights, plus room for storage, and that means I can do something different in the bed now that the platform will be gone.... SWEET! (little does she know :) )

Yeah, I'll have to look out for the clashing swingout/tailgate! :Wow1:

TACODOC sorry to hear that your new swing out messed up your quarter panel. I'll have to do something to prevent the same thing from happening to mine. I've got an idea...:peepwall:

I have decided that my Deaver 12 leaf pack rear springs aren't going to cut it... I have saggy butt now with a full load thanks to my recent rear bumper upgrade and the fact that I carry lots of gear when I go out. It's a shame because up until now I have REALLY enjoyed the ride these springs provide both on and off road :)

As tempting as it is... I know better than to use blocks or other gimmickry.

So, I contacted Deaver and they said these 12 leaf spring packs are maxed out for size and the only way to gain carrying capacity and fix the saggy butt syndrome is a custom leaf pack... $750.

I have looked and I dont think OME Dakars or anything else will handle what I have now so I'm looking for others opinions. Do I just have this one option of having a custom setup made or is there something else I could do?

Anyone interested in a good set of used Deavers? :)

Wow, post #600. Great thread!

I just ordered a custom Deaver 10-pack for the "Alpine" Tundra, too! Same price. Ouch.

My custom ALCANS are working perfectly. There is no sag at all. They are built just right for all the weight I carry in the back. I can't remember what I paid, but I know they were cheaper then $790. It is an 8 leaf pack built to my needs. If I can find the recipt I will let you know how much I paid.

Dave, I am sure Deaver is one of the leaders in the industry. But, you could always check with National Spring here in San Diego, more like El Cajon/Santee area.

Good luck with SBS (saggy butt syndrome)

And if you want a really fun look at things. Next time you're on a trip, stop at a truck stop and have your truck weighed.
