My monitor died at home... so, those of you waiting for pics of the new snorkel install will have to wait until a new monitor is in place (I cant upload pics at work)

I will tell you that it looks great :shakin:

Doc,

I rang Opposite Lock today to inquire bout those auxiliary tanks - the smaller one (70litres) that sits above the spare wheel/tyre costs $885 Australian, and they didnt have the larger one on file that replaces the entire spare wheel area, but he did quote me on a larger replacement tank for the original tank which was 150 litres in capacity and costs $1,158 Australian.

The smaller auxiliary tank, he says has a small pump of its own and pumps fuel into the main tank, so when your out on a trip, the fuel guage stays at full until the auxiliary tank empties itself then will start to go down as normal when the factory tank begins to run low.

Hope that helps mate, Personally, I might look into the smaller one later on, bit cheaper and with the factory item I'll get 145 litres all up.

Snorkel Update

I am in mid write up and when I have finished the detailed "how to" with pics, we will have an install guide to rival anything on the Safari Snorkel website ;)

I test drove it last night and with the complete watertight install there are no ECU issues, CEL's or other anomalies...

There is plenty of air as it is now a "forced intake" with the scoop on the snorkel vice the smallish "snout" on the stock intake that was drawing air from inside the fender.

I am very pleased with both the look of the the install and the functionality.

I look forward to the right up :26_7_2: . If it works well for you, then I might see getting one in the future

hola!

all;
I just found this forum and thread via google search earlier today and just recently completed reading all 700+ replies. I am very impressed with the amount of information regarding new style tacoma's on here. And Tacodoc (Dave?), VERY impressed with your build and can't wait to see the new snorkel set up. I own a 2005 Tacoma Access Cab TRD 4.0 V6, 6 Speed Standard. Only mods at the moment are WAAG brush guard w/ 2x 4" PIAA lights, WAAG side steps, K&N cold air intake system, Gibson sideswept exhaust, and Alpine [iPod compatible] head unit. There is much more on my wish list but another pending deployment to Iraq and of course a shortage of money are putting everything on hold at the moment.

I actually found this forum as a result of searching for information on ARB winch mount bumpers ... because, unfortunately the other day on my way back home from Harrisburg the weather turned for the worst and ended up getting into a little fender bender while my buddy was driving ... brush guard got crushed in on the one side which sliced through the bottom plastic bumper, the grill, and the portion that covers my headlight got crushed into my driver's side quarter panel. I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow sometime.

Just wanted to get involved on here and be a part of the enormous amount of very valuable information that has been traded in the past, and I'm sure will be traded in the future.

Did he say whether this would be compatible with US made Tacomas?
