Hunter, if you get bored this winter and find yourself bending tubes for a new front bumper, I probably could be talked into "adopting" your existing bumper. But I'm just a kind hearted soul that way....:hehe:

Hunter, now that you have the snokel figured out would you be willing to make another? I would want one for my diesel, I belive the intakes could be at the same spot on the fender. You mentioned you have a 4x4 shop, that is the reason I ask.

diesel snorkel

I too have been scratching my head looking for a snorkel for my '06 3500. Is your snorkel a 1 off? I assume it is, it looks great...post more picks!

As soon as i saw the pics, the snorkel was going to be the first thing i would ask for close-ups of.

I've got one for my Cherokee from ARB out of Australia, and i know they make them for lots of Toyotas as well, but the domestic stuff for the most part is lacking in supply.
And after you get water in your cylinders once, that's enough to pressure you into getting a snorkel. ;)

Truck is looking good John! I haven't seen it since about the time you bought it to replace the FJ. I don't think you even had the shell on it then. The 8 is still running well and has had a few mods since the last time you saw it/worked on it. Take care!

I have a 2006 1500 and am looking for a snorkel also. Sounds to me like you could make a killing in this market!

Awesome looking Dodge there. I think that the home made snorkel is just off the hook! Looking forward to seeing some closeup pics of the job.

That is a nice truck outfitted perfectly! :sombrero: May be a tad bit of lift and more tire would really set it off.

You can't beat a Dodge with a SFA. Nice handly work on the snorkle! It looks....well, perfect and not an obvious PVC pipe concoction.

Curios about the snorkel on the red Ram1500

Hi Hunter:

Do you have pictures of your build up Dodge Ram 1500?

In particular, I’m very interested in the snorkel.

In this forum and in another forum I subscribe to; (http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219588 ) a snorkel for Rams is very sought after.

Since most Rams are built pretty much the same, (if not for hobby, for business) if a snorkel is built, people would kill for a snorkel for Dodge. I myself drive a 2005 Power Wagon Hemi (2500) and like all newer Rams it sucks the air from just behind the front bumper making the water forging threshold pretty low and hydro lock dangerous.

If you are not interested in building them for your business (for what ever reason) do you mind taking lots of pictures and posting them.

Thanks in advance.

This project looks really sweet, I don't have a use for a snorkel (at least for now) but it does look very sharp! You did a great job on it! Definately 2 thumbs up.

Wow, I kinda forgot about tis thread. My life has been up and down lot the past 2 years. Unexpected divorces will so that....

That said, getting back into the world, and one those is visitng my favorite site.

Lately, I have been getting a lot attention on the snorkel so here is a little background on it.

For my day job, I do own a fabrication shop, work on 4x4s. That said, i really wanted a snorkel but no one made one so I took the leap of faith and built mine, using the best materail I could fine, steel. its actually 3" exhaust tube, with many cuts and peices, grafted together to make the tube fit. And witht he hood and fender the way it is, tricky is an understatement. I am seriuosly considering getting to making some more of these, while far from a mass production things, but enough so I can fab one up for someone else. Mine has been on there now for years and held well.

The only major snag I have is the snorkel head. I had that one on mine laying around from a now out of business maker from the late 2002. So I used. If I can line up another source of the shelf snorkels heads, I can build the tube, make a template and install insturctions and get something going. It would fit from 1994 up until 2000. I knwo the one company makes a nice one for the latest generation but I am thinking they are not going to make one for the older. Ill do some homework. If you are intersted, send me a private message. Thanks guys.

Also, I will try and get some photos up here soon.
