is this a regional (northeast) thing, or a jeep thing?

ducks (like the little rubber ones for the tub) lined up along the dashboard and visible through the windshield.

thanks

Got'em here in Southwest Mo., it's a Jeep thing, owners give them to other owners, they are collected, our Jeep Cherokee has found a few on the roof above the driver's door and on the hood by the windshield. Why? I have no idea. We just pass them along to another Jeep.

If I'm not wrong it was started by a Jeep-driving lady from Canada who was visiting the US during COVID. Someone gave her guff for traveling during covid and she decided to spread happiness instead of dwelling on anger. She'd bought a rubber duckie in a convenience store or something and put it on someone else's Jeep she saw in the lot to pass it on

I get them occasionally in Kansas, but honestly, it seems to be a "pretty wrangler" thing around here. Most of the rigs with them crossing the dash are mall crawlers. My old, well worn TJ, or crusty XJ aren't worthy of ducking. I'm fine with that.
I'd be happier if people tucked dollar bills under the wipers. It could help pay for parts and maintenance.
Lets normalize that!

see them all over in Wisconsin. I'm planning to duck my Outlander, I'm thinking a full sized decoy.

Saw a blue wrangler two days ago driving right by me with probably over 40 very small rubber duckies crowded on the dash up against the windshield showing colors from all over the rainbow.

It just looked weird to see this pile of little toys spread out in a wide jumbled mess. Not very Jeepish IMHO.

Strange times my friends, strange times indeed 🤣

Whenever I see that, my 1st thought is what a pain in the butt it must be to try and dust the dashboard.

Last year, while visiting family out East, I came out of the ski lodge where my brother and nephews work to find a dime-a-dozen, dealer-modified JK next to my blatantly obvious rental eJeep and a unicorn duck hanging from the door handle by the business card of a local souvenir shop. I found it so silly that I took the lonely thing home to live in my Toyota.
