Earle Motors Ducati Alaskan Conversion

Well, you did ask for opinions - so I have some!

On the positive, I love any company/person who pursues their own take on a product. It would be easy to be negative, but I think their Alaskan looks pretty cool. Probably not the bike for me, I happen to like some of my frills, but it wouldn't bother me to see one of these on the road. I say good for Earle Motors for doing their thing, good for anybody who buys one, and good for anybody who doesn't.

But that's as far as my opinions go - I've never seen one, but if I did I would be sure to check it out. I'm sure there will be plenty of "my 25 year old XR is just as good" negativity out there, but it's a sliding scale. At least here in Colorado, the trails we all love were created by guys with a shovel, a mule and a canvas bed roll, so anything more than that could fall into the "unnecessary" category, it just depends on where you stand on that scale.

I hope I see one, I'd love to check it out, and hear it run.....

Pretty cool, I am scared to ask what the conversion runs. The bike new is $11-12K, it's probably safe to bet that the conversion is north of $6K, if not more. Not for me, but I'd love to see one in person though.
