EP East Coast Fall Trip (Location Thread) October 20-23, 2006

Trip is definitely open to anyone, even those folks out west, if they wanna make the trip.

Camping probably depends somewhat on the final destination, but I would say prepare as if it was going to be back country primitive camping.

I THINK that most of the campsites for those using the OHV area are designated campsites.

By all means, please join in. In any case, I'm hoping for back country primitive for at least part of the trip. Sometimes I like to break up the back country stays with an evening in a National Forest campground to grab a shower. I need to make some phone calls to Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky to see what's available. I'm thinking I may make that our proposed location.

I'm open to input on any/all details.

Date is as good for me so far as I can predict this far ahead of time.

For me, it will depend on the progress on the house. As of yesterday, it has the foundation walls up. Rough plumbing and slab work should be done by weeks end.

We are responsible for a lot of the finish work, and the earliest of that may be happening in October, so that would exclude me, but if they aren't needing us to do our part that weekend, I am sure gonna try MIGHTY hard to make it.

Dates still work for me since school hasn't even started yet and the syllabuses haven't taken control of my weekends. I'd potentially have to bail out early to make it back monday though.

LBL sounds great, just hope the route provides for quick backtracking or an easy detour out to public roads, all still TBD.
 
Well Alright! Much appreciated fellas.

Haven't been to Kentucky before and am always up for exploring new terrain. My wedding anniv. is Oct 10th so I may need to negotiate this at home, if I'm still married that is!

Joel, will there be a date change? I return to work this coming Monday and will put in for the time off.

Well, I did some checking and I can't move the date. Have to keep it for set for October 20th - October 23th. I apologize to those who this may exclude.

That may exclude me, if my builder's schedule holds true...:( ah well...I just hope that this becomes an annual gathering...

I guess there still may be hope, but just ever so slim....

yeah, me to...we will see. possibly maybe an overnight thing, just so far for an overnighter.

So is it definately LBL now?

Hope I can get all the little issues resolved with the jeep before then. Otherwise, anyone need a navigator? lol
