I painted the faded black flares on my 04 LJ wrangler with Krylon fusion black paint.

It was still looking great about 6 months after I did it, right up until my rig got stolen. :(

I've used the Fusion rattle can paint as well on flares and various other black plastic pieces. It works well and is quite durable.

krylon fusion, check.

haven't done much except drive it. New job is 21 miles, one way.

nice, mine's 22 miles. It's honestly been a very comfortable car to commute in for the last few years.

I have a great stereo, nice tinting for hot days, and an effective heater for cold days.

Still want a snorkle for when a tsunami strikes (most of San Diego is a flood plain), a winch to pull trucks out of median planters (been there done that) and a rear bumper that will keep my rig from getting totalled by the insurance company in the event of a fender bender. :)

Replaced both the battery and the starter tonight. I feel like I am the only person on the planet that replaces batteries.

I am getting pretty good at replacing starters, my old Audi would eat them for lunch. The Jeep was a lot easier though, I didn't have to use a jack, plenty of room to crawl under and swap it out.

The old starter, when tested at autozone, threw a bunch of sparks before a puff of smoke and then dying. It was pretty spectacular.

Saturday I got the Driver's side speaker to work in my XJ. chased a broken wire, found it was broken in two places.

Today I replaced the right rear brake line. When the previous owner did the axel swap (for disk brakes) the shortened a line and id not flare it, so I leaked out all of the brake fluid.

Took a Long Tim,e to blead it, but I have a pump, so it wasn't as long as it could have been.

WEll I painted my trim yesterday. I was tired of the faded dingy grey look of the trim. I used Krylon fusion (for plastic) paint. I got it at walmart for about 5 bucks.

I will post after pictures later, it was all dark and rainy yesterday evening when I finished. The garage totally smells like spray paint.

I did the krylon fusion treatment to my faded flares and I LOVE the results. Been on there for over a year now without any fading, chipping or scratching. Looks great still.

For reference, here it is with the faded trim. I paned all 4 bumper corners and the trim on the door.

Here is the trim after the paint. I drove home in the worst weather of the year, so it is already super dirty. Compaired to the "previous" look, I think the black looks great.

Today my 13 y.o. son and I went through all our camping gear. We are ill prepared for camping. One key item missing, a tent. I will hit up cragslist to find some stuff.

I also started to remove the fender flairs to paint them black, but after the second broken mounting screw/bolt I stopped.
