Congrats on the suspension upgrade. I'm sure it will make a difference. It's also something I'm probably going to do next year too. :)

looks good man I love the flippac. Tacoma's are so capable in their stock form it's silly. Most people, I dare to say, rarely ever need huge tires and tons of upgrades. Off road driving skills are much more valuable than having a monster truck locked out to the hilt.

There are two brackets which mount to the bed. The fwc then has turnbuckles that hook to the brackets

ahh cause on the FWC site all i see are the external turnbuckles, but then again i was looking at the Short bed. Do you still have use of the tailgate?

Since I have a standard bed and a Finch model I am able to use my tailgate. This was an important factor for me since I like having the use of the backup camera. Some FWC owners have mentioned it is difficult to enter/exit with the tailgate. Having come from the Flippac it isn't an issue for me.

Are those side windows stock with that Flip Pac, or did you add them? Is your Flippac an FRP or AT?

I don't have a flippac anymore. The windoors are an add on item that costs a bit more but IMO worth it. There is no difference other than the installed lights between FRP and AT. FRP makes them all the same. Mine was straight from FRP in Riverside.

Did you do anything more to the rear suspension? The Dakars won't live long without the extra leaf and Timbrens IMO. I'm about to have National Spring make a custom set for me as my Dakars with extra leaf are flat, the FWC is much heavier than the FP.

Ah man that's not what I want to hear. So far they are holding up great. My Finch weighs 575 empty. Loaded up it sits just right. I would like some bumpstops in the future. Fortunately most of the time I am able to keep the Finch off the truck. With it removed it rides very high in the rear. I have the full OME front and back set up but no AAL.

Finally got my 2nd battery and battery controller in place. The way it is now has survived a recent trip to Eureka Valley, Dedeckera Canyon, Steel Pass, and the South Pass of Saline Valley Road. The battery hasn't moved a bit. I do plan to secure the tray the battery controller is on to hinder some of the up and down play on the tray itself. This process took a lot of doing and trips to the hardware store. For those of you who do have a 2nd gen Tacoma and do not have the ABS system on the passenger side there is hope of getting a battery in that position.

I do not have a total parts list. Many washers, grommets, and other parts used. The tray is for a Group 27 Size battery even though mine is a Group 34. I live in an apt and do not have a formal workshop. Any cutting, grinding, and drilling was done pretty much on my balcony.

Well I finally broke down and had a shop do the electrical work installation. The only thing not done was a quick connect for my LED light bar which I plan to have mounted on my Yakima rack above the wind fairing.
I now have all my switches installed, camper power plug mounted in one of the bed cubbies, front spots (weak), and two always on 12V outlets in the rear of the center console. Having constant power for my fridge is great. Having the camper power on during camping is also very nice.

The final wiring looks nice. I'd recommend two very minor things:

  1. If you don't already have it, draw a wiring schematic for future trouble shooting
  2. move the red and green felt washers from the sealed AGM battery to the liquid electrolyte starter battery
