I found a set of 4.9 gears in town for $600 picked up. Rear axle and front carrier out of a 2001 Sport.

Wish the guy could budge on the price.

He must know exactly what he has there.

There are lots of used axles for sale all over the country, and plenty of them are listed in "A" condition and quite inexpensive. I know that the gear ratio is stamped on the firewall; is the problem that, once the vehicle is parted out, there's no indication of what gears are in the axle?
