Expedition Overland 2013 Tacoma Build

My first post here and tagging this for future reference. Contemplating an expedition/camping rig on an undecided platform. I'm a former Toyota devotee and owner (remember when their trucks were built in Japan? :sombrero:). Back in the day I wrote for Off-Road.com (who??? :coffeedrink:) and 4x4 Wire so I'm an old-schooler when it comes to this stuff (think: solid front axle swaps). I'm not totally sold on the Tacoma (having worked for Toyota R&D for about 8 years) but I still think it's a nice truck. My newest project vehicle won't be as hard-core as the last so a Tacoma just might work. Nice job you guys...this truck looks awesome. Love the rifle rack...might have to mount one of those for my "work" gun in my Subaru Outback (LOL...).

i would do a expedition style tundra with LT using this the one in picture lol. i dont think its the size they are worried about since they already pull a trailer. I think the LC and taco is better know for expedition and can push their name better

Tundra is too big to be practical. Most of the trails I've been on are pretty tight as it is, so with the wider, taller, longer, tundra you'd have an even harder time navigating the terrain. Not saying it cant be done, but with size you are only limited if you are too big. Smaller rigs just have to be more capable.

Perhaps because the Tundra is quite a bit bigger?

Ya know a RCSB Tundra would be a good step up without going too big, roughly the same a mount of room behind the seats as a AC Tacoma, wheel base is 126.8" to the Tacoma Access Cab is 127.8"

Bigger bed, more power, more capacity.

Did someone say long travel expedition use Tundra? This one is owned by a Pro-Surfer for going
down to Baja.

They must be lost. I went hunting for them on both YouTube and Vimeo today with no success. Really looking forward to Alaska! Lets hope the boy don't get lost along with the footage.

Where did Season 1 E: 1-4 go? I need to watch them to keep me from going crazy waiting for the Alaska episodes. Keep up the great work guys!!!

Too bad they are no longer available. I was going to go through the whole series before the new episodes.

Hey! Sorry guys, but yes, they have been taken down as part of a creative re-work for season 2. Its a bummer, i know, but will DEFINITELY be worth it when you see what's coming. Thanks for the continued support, sorry we've been MIA on here, but the trip took all our attention, as you may well be able to understand ;)

I just went through this whole thread and bookmarked your website. Now I can't wait to see the episodes.

I saw the Tacoma yesterday on King and 32nd in Billings then stumble on this thread today. Small world. I will be watching and maybe see you in the back country sometime. Keep up the good work.
